Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Turing's Gate (the "Service", "we", "us") is an invite-only forum, chat and voice community for verified humans. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
The short version: we collect only what's needed to run your account, show your posts and deliver your messages. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, username and password (the password is stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider — we cannot read it), plus the Red Pearl code you used to join.
- Profile: optional profile photo and your privacy setting (public or private profile).
- Content you create: posts, polls, replies, photos and videos you attach, direct and group messages, live chat messages (these are not stored), votes, friend connections, blocks and reports you file.
- Voice and calls: if you join a voice room or call, your device sends audio directly to the other participants. We do not record calls and audio never touches our database. The app asks for microphone permission only when you start or answer a call.
- Photos and videos: the app asks to access your photo library or camera only when you choose to attach media or set a profile photo. Media you upload is stored so other members can see it.
Collected automatically
- Human-verification signals: to keep bots out, the app measures typing rhythm (the timing between keystrokes) as you compose text. Only a numeric score derived from this is saved to your profile; we do not store what you typed as a result of this check, and it is not used for advertising.
- Security checks: sign-in and sign-up use Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at browser signals to tell humans from bots.
- Push notification token: if you allow notifications in the iOS app, a device token is linked to your account so we can notify you about messages, replies and calls.
- Basic usage analytics: our host uses privacy-friendly page-view analytics that don't use cookies and don't identify you personally. Our servers also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use it
- To create and run your account, show your posts and deliver your messages and notifications.
- To keep the community safe: preventing bots, spam and abuse, and reviewing reports.
- To maintain, secure and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with data brokers.
3. Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage and realtime messaging.
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Cloudflare — Turnstile bot checks.
- OneSignal — delivery of push notifications to the iOS app.
- Google STUN servers — used by your device to find a route for voice calls; they see your IP address but not your audio.
Voice calls are peer to peer, so the people you call can see your IP address as part of the connection. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members.
4. What other members can see
Your username, profile photo, posts, replies and activity score are visible to other members. If you set your profile to private, your post and reply history is hidden from others. Direct messages are visible only to the people in that conversation. Content you share in public threads can be seen by every member and may be copied by them; please don't post anything you want to keep private.
5. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings > Profile > Delete Account. Deletion immediately and permanently removes your login, profile, messages you sent, friend connections, notifications, votes and blocks. Your past public posts and replies stay so conversations remain readable, but they are detached from you and shown as "[deleted]". Reports you filed or that were filed about you may be kept for a limited time where needed to protect the community or comply with the law. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis. If you can't use the app, email us and we'll delete your account for you.
6. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, change your password or switch your profile to private in Settings.
- Turn off notifications in Settings or in iOS Settings, and revoke microphone, camera or photo access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Block and report other members (see our Terms of Use).
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing support@turingsgate.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional legal rights, and we will honor them.
7. Children
The Service is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has joined, contact us and we will remove the account.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to the database is restricted by row-level security rules, and content is checked before it is displayed. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes
If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date above shows when this policy was last updated.
