Why I started this
Turing’s Gate started on a long train ride in late September, on my way to see my girlfriend, the day after a dream that got me thinking about how hard it has become to tell who’s real online. I began with a plain text box on my laptop that tried to spot writing that didn’t seem human, and kept adding to it from there. Today it’s a small forum with chat and voice rooms, and once the first 1,000 founder spots are gone, everyone joins with an invite from someone already inside. No site can promise that every account is a real person, so instead of claiming that, it leans on invites, a light check at sign-up and moderators. It’s very early and I’m building it in the open, so come and tell me what’s missing.
